Do It Yourself Paint & Sip Parties

If you’re a fan of paint and sip parties, then you’ll love the idea of bringing this fun activity right to your kitchen table. With a few simple supplies and computer access, you can be creating your very own masterpieces from the comfort of your own home.

Materials can be purchased online or at a local store:

• Acrylic Paint (Scroll down in this post for suggestions)
• Canvases
• Brushes (Sizes will depend on the painting)
• Table-Top Easels
• Instructional Easel
• Table Cloths
• Water Containers
• Paper Towels
• Palettes or Paper Plates
• Aprons

Set Up Instructions

1. Locate a comfortable spot, whether it’s your kitchen or dining room table (things could get a little messy).
2. Lay table cloths or newspaper on the tables and set up the easels and the canvases.
3. Lay brushes, palettes/paper plates, water cups and paper towels in front of each easel. Make sure each easel has the correct brush sizes needed for the painting.
4. Set up your computer (we use a laptop) or TV with internet access to cast a video or demonstrate steps. Keep it close enough that you can stop or stop it as needed.
5. Don’t forget to have your drinks and snacks on hand. Coffee, a bit of bubbly or your favorite thing to sip along with some easy snacks like pretzels, chips or cheese and crackers.

There are TONS of free online painting tutorials offering you endless options for whatever floats your boat. You can also purchase video lessons through different artists! 

Get Started Making Your Masterpiece

1. Practice Drawing Freehand (or trace if you have a printed traceable) on a piece of paper. Once you’re comfortable with the sketch, draw it out on your canvas.
2. Play your online tutorial – remember it’s okay to pause the video as often as you like so you can work at your own pace.
