We understand the challenges that students and their families are facing when it comes to paying for college. In an effort to help make college more affordable for our members, the credit union has made $27,000 available to help students pay for their education and we’re honored to be making this investment in the students’ futures.

Memorial Scholarships

  • Peter J. Kavalauskas Memorial Scholarship
    • One $5,000 scholarship awarded to an applicant who is dedicated to making a positive difference in the world.
    • The applicant must be a current high school student who will be attending a 2 year accredited community college next year.
  • Roger G. Marois Memorial Scholarship and the Bart M. DallaMura Memorial Scholarships
    • Two $2,000 scholarships awarded to applicants who have displayed outstanding volunteerism to benefit their community.
    • The applicant must be a current high school student who will be attending a 2 or 4 year accredited college or technical school next year.
  • Northeast Credit Union General Scholarships
    • Eight $1,500 scholarships and twelve $500 scholarships awarded to applicants selected by the Northeast Credit Union scholarship committee.
    • The applicant must be a current high school student who will be attending a 2 or 4 year accredited college or technical school next year. 

Eligibility

The applicant must be a member in good standing of Northeast Credit Union who meets all of the following criteria:

  • The applicant must be a current high school student who will be attending a 2 or 4 year accredited college or technical school next year.
  • The applicant must be in the top 50% of his/her high school class.
  • The applicant must have been a member in good standing of Northeast Credit Union for at least one year prior to the date of application.
  • Students are only eligible to be awarded one of the scholarships.  

Application Process

Students can apply for a scholarship by completing the following:

  1. Download and print one of the scholarship application forms found below:
  2. Complete the application form
  3. Write an essay answering the question asked in the application
  4. Obtain the required transcripts, letters of recommendation, and signatures
  5. Return the completed application package no later than March 14th, 2016 to:

If any portion of the application is incomplete or missing, the application will not be considered.

Presentations of scholarships will be made at the chosen students' high school awards nights during May and June.
