Portsmouth, NH – Northeast Credit Union (NECU) is proud to announce a $5,000 donation was given to Honor Flight New England, a non-profit organization created solely to honor America's Veterans for all of their sacrifices. Honor Flight New England organizes trips specifically for New England Veterans to travel to Washington, D.C. so they can visit and reflect at the National Memorials at absolutely no cost to the Veteran.

Eighty-five-year-old, Warren White of Hampton, NH, is a WWII U.S. Marine Corp Veteran. On September 27, 2015, White traveled with Honor Flight New England to Washington, D.C to see the National Memorials for the first time. "I was really looking forward to this trip," said White. "I had no idea exactly what I was going to encounter, but when I first saw the WWII Memorial it was overwhelming. One of the nicest parts of this trip is that you experience this with other Veterans who were in WWII. That was something. Honor Flight New England did a fantastic job organizing this trip."

"Our first trip was on June 13, 2009 and every trip since then has been just as humbling as the first," said Joe Byron, Founder, Honor Flight New England. "We are fortunate to have the support from Northeast Credit Union. Every dollar helps offset travel expenses so our Veterans can experience this trip at no cost. This is our small way to honor the sacrifices these Veterans have made for our country."
