Portsmouth, NH  - The CA$H Coalition’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program proved to be successful once again, thanks to tremendous volunteer efforts and local support. The VITA initiative offers free tax preparation services to members of the community, made possible by the dedication of the Rockingham Community Action Program and the United Way of the Greater Seacoast. Northeast Credit Union’s Portsmouth branch hosted the program once again and continued their support with a $5,000 donation to assist with needed funding.

CA$H Coalition of Southeastern NH in partnership with Northeast Credit Union (NECU) has again received national recognition by receiving the Save Your Refund Savings Champion Award.

This year, NECU helped process 561 federal returns, resulting in $762,379 in federal refunds. The CA$H Coalition’s VITA program as a whole helped process $1,399,929 in federal refunds across the Seacoast. “We are incredibly impressed by all of the program’s volunteers, who selflessly devoted their free time to assist those in need of guidance,” expressed Tim Collia, Northeast Credit Union’s President and CEO. “The VITA program is a perfect example of how our communities grow stronger when we work together. Thank you for your outstanding work.”
