Northeast Credit Union (NECU) is thrilled to announce their 2017 scholarship recipients. At the start of the year, NECU increased the award funds from $27,000 to $40,000, adding another $13,000 available for distribution. The Scholarship Committee also introduced the Community Champion Scholarship, awarding $2,500 to two unsung heroes for demonstrating a strong commitment to their communities.

"With the new budget we were able to increase the award amounts for the Roger G. Marois and BartShanice Marotto-Potvin.jpg M. Dalla Mura Memorial Scholarships, along with the Northeast Credit Union General Scholarships," states Tim Collia, Northeast Credit Union President and CEO. "We also opened up the Peter J. Kavalauskas Memorial Scholarship to anyone planning to attend a community college next year. This decision was made to include not only high school students, but also those planning to return to school or currently enrolled in their first year." This year's recipient is Shanice Marotto-Potvin from Manchester Community College.

"The staff at the Exeter office have always been so welcoming to me," states Shanice, "Without their guidance, encouragement and instruction, I might never have learned the importance of saving and budgeting. Thank you and all the other great people at NECU for all that you have done for me and my community."

"Northeast Credit Union would like to thank all those who took the time to submit an application," states scholarship coordinator Nicole Benevento, "As always, the Scholarship Committee was incredibly impressed by all of our student members who applied.
